I know Easter is early this year, but wow! Here we are at Maundy Thursday, just a week after our biggest snow of the season! I had so much fun putting together Victoria’s first Easter basket, so of course I had to share. It’s so fun to get to pull out all these fun childhood traditions I had almost forgotten about. And as fun as it is for me now, I can’t imagine how much better it will be when she knows what’s going on and can get excited about coming downstairs to see what the Easter bunny brought her!
I have to be honest that at Christmas, we just picked some developmentally appropriate toys and hoped she would notice them. But the great part about putting this basket together was that now I feel like I know her personality well enough to know what she likes! Sure, I went wild with all the bunnies and eggs and seersucker I could get my spring-loving hands on, but I really think she’s going to like some of this stuff! Let me explain…
Here’s What I Rounded up for VJM’s First Easter Basket:
- Books: Baby Girl LOVES a touch and feel book. In fact, once she figured out that some books are touch and feel, she decided to check each page of every book to see whether there is anything to touch. This results in her running her hands all over every page of every book while I’m trying to read it, and it’s one of the funniest things ever. So naturally, we had to get Easter Touch and Feel and That’s Not My Bunny (we are big fans of That’s Not My Fairy around here already). Then I couldn’t resist I am a Bunny, because it’s hilarious. That is a bunny of few words.
- Haba Shakin Eggs: The Arlington Public Library lets the babies shake these egg shakers to oldies at Baby Lap Time, and Victoria is INTO IT. Apparently each of these eggs makes a slightly different sound, and I think she’s going to love having her own set at home.
- Carrot Teether: Because these are too cute for Easter, and duh, she’s teething.
- Because of Zoe Seersucker Bow: Ok, these next two are mostly for me, but Shunta Grant makes the cutest bows on the planet, and this pink seersucker one is perfect for spring! Seriously go check out these soft, big, beautiful bows!
- Mudpie Seersucker Ruffle Bow Swimsuit: While I would buy anything that combines ruffles, seersucker, and a giant bow, I actually have a good excuse for this one. We are (very unlikely) pool owners! Sweet girl is going to get some ISR lessons as soon as we open that thing, and then we can rock all the darling baby swimsuits we can handle.
The basket and pink gingham liner are both from Pottery Barn Kids.
I can’t decide what I’m most excited about: dying eggs, making cinnamon rolls, dressing her up in her Easter dress (hand-smocked by my mom), or playing with all this fun stuff with her! 🙂
