Pumpkin Picking at Butler’s Orchard

We had the absolute best weekend at the pumpkin patch last weekend (October 20th)! We went to Butler’s Orchard with friends, and there was way more than we could even begin to do before naptime. There was a petting zoo, playgrounds, a pumpkin canon + apple slingshots, a hay bale maze, huge slides, lots of food, and of course, hay rides to the pumpkin patch. We also had our own bonfire for our group where we could roast s’mores. We had one tired baby on the way home! We love this annual tradition, and when I look at these photos from last year, I just can’t believe how far we’ve come. Our little baby was running around picking up pumpkins and going down slides this year!

We started at the playground, which was a huge hit.

Butler’s Orchard really went all out, right down to the creepy decorations. 🙂

Inside the train!

After the playground, we had to sample the apple cider donuts, and caramel apples!

I let Victoria have some apple cider donut, and she loved it.

Next, we boarded the hay ride to the pumpkin patch! I loved that it was an old school hay ride through the farm, which was really beautiful and would have been fun on its own even without the pumpkins!

We’re pretty sure they had come through and placed these pumpkins in the patch, but it was sure fun anyway. Victoria didn’t care if it was authentic!

She picked this very unique gourd, and I praised her for thinking outside the box.

Then she tried to give it to Abby.

Then she tried to pick up some pumpkins that were way too big for her.

We finished the afternoon with lunch and s’mores back at our campfire site with our church friends and a trip to the BIG country store for some apple cider and pumpkin spice maple syrup.

Then, just because we hadn’t had quite enough fall fun to pack into one day, we went to our good friends’ house in the neighborhood for football-watching, chili, and cornhole.

It was the BEST day!
