This photo was taken this weekend at our annual fall retreat to Capon Springs!
It has been a long time since I have posted my monthly goals here, but I am getting organized to finish this year well! I’m back into my monthly prep days and Powersheets to help me stay organized and live with intention and gratitude. September, October, November, and December are probably my favorite months of the year, so we still have so much fun to have in 2019. Let’s do it!
My Big Goals for the Month of November are:
- Send Christmas cards early. Like ASAP, because we’ve moved since last Christmas and didn’t send a moving announcement with our new address in it. I’m really excited for our first Christmas in our first house, and the more I can prepare in advance, the more we’ll be able to savor it in December. The sub goals to this are to cull the Christmas card address list, design and order the cards, get a new return address embosser, address, stamp, and mail! Whew! Maybe I can watch some good documentaries and work on this in the evenings.
- Get VJM’s baby book up to date. This has been on my list forever, and I am hoping that baby boy’s impending arrival will be just the motivation I need.
- Put all blog post ideas in one place. I have a million different lists of posts I want to write, and I want to bring them all together in one Google sheet and then create some kind of editorial calendar so that I don’t forget anything. I have missed so many important posts I wanted to write in the past year too, so I may be writing and back-dating some important milestones just for our record-keeping. This little space is, in part, our family scrapbook.
- Back up all family photos. This is a beast of a project that I am determined to get finished by the end of 2018. I hope to spend a big chunk of time on it when we’re hanging around my parents’ house for Thanksgiving.
- Celebrate Friendsgiving! We’re not hosting this year but celebrating with our same friends we always do in their new home, and we can’t wait!! This is one of my favorite November traditions after the big day itself.
- Go on a family shopping trip! This is so old school, but I want to take VJM out for a day of shopping at a real mall! Ha. It makes sense this time, because she needs an entire wardrobe of winter clothes (coat, hats, gloves, boots included), and I need winter maternity clothes (primarily pants, some blouses to wear under my long sweaters and sweater blazers, and a coat). I have such fond memories of shopping with my mom at the mall, and I think it would be a fun family outing for us all.
- Have a great trip to Missouri. We are excited to make one last flight before I stick to cars for the third trimester to see my family for a week in Missouri! The best part is that my Grandmom moved to my hometown, so now I can see all my grandparents and parents in the same place. We’re super excited.
- Decorate for Christmas. I am hoping to make Sunday, November 25th our official Christmas decorating day!
October in Review
I didn’t post October goals, but we did check off a ton of items from our Fall Bucket List in October. We had a beautiful trip to Aspen, baked pumpkin bread, painted our nails a deep wine color, went to the pumpkin patch, hosted our annual Halloween party (with pumpkin carving), had a ball at Gymboween, and took baby girl on her first trick-or-treating adventure in our neighborhood. Fall has been well celebrated!
