It looks like an extra day in February wasn’t quite enough for me, as I still needed another extra day in March to get to my goals for the month. I blame our wonderful trip to Snowshoe, as we had such a fantastic time (more on that soon!) that we just had to take one more night at home to order take-out, watch the Bachelor, and pretend we didn’t have to rejoin the working world.
I did have a bright yellow and green Easter Southern Living and some 60-degree weather to greet me at home, though, and that was a pretty sweet consolation prize. I don’t want to get my hopes up too soon, but can we go cherry blossom peeping yet?
Life is short and fast, so the purpose of these monthly goals is two-fold. First, it is to help me be intentional about my time and tackle important things by a due date that might otherwise be on my long-term to-do list forever. Second, it is to seize each moment to do the FUN things that make life so lovely. So each month I’ll have a mix of things I want to get done to be more productive and organized and things I want to get done to be more leisurely and adventurous.
Here’s what I want to accomplish this month:
- Spring Cleaning! Clean out and reorganize guest room closet and kitchen pantry cabinets.
- Start Powersheets. As Lara Casey says, “There’s nothing magical about January 1st.” (And hopefully make time to compare notes with Erin!)
- Get Inspired at the Making Things Happen Conference. I’m SO EXCITED about this one. Much more to come on this.
- Learn Photography. Maybe I won’t become a pro this month, but I want to get comfortable with my camera’s settings and the basics. (As you can see from the photo above, I’m not quite there yet!)
- Read at Least One Book Cover to Cover. This is my standing goal for 2016.
- Go See Two Plays. I’m hoping to catch The City of Conversation and The Flick. I’ll report back.
- Explore Old Town Alexandria. Alexandria was named the most romantic city in America recently, I live next door, and I haven’t even been yet? This must be remedied.
- Finally Get Will (and Pippa) on a Hike in Great Falls with Me.
I’ll let you know how it goes!
