Hi friends! It’s Thursday, and I’m back with another product collage, so I guess this is a thing now. We were in North Carolina to visit Will’s family this weekend and headed down to Charlotte just for the Panthers game. (Sorry Charlotte friends, we were only there for the game!) Up until I met Will, I was a Saturday football-only kind of girl. I never really got too into the Rams (Gee, I wonder why they went back to L.A.???) I was kind of a Giants fan for a hot minute when I lived in New York, but that didn’t really stick after I moved to Nashville. Well now I am legit! I am so excited to finally have an NFL team to cheer for, because more football is always better. My Charlotte man bleeds black and blue, and his dad and Jenna have had season tickets for years, so I say keep pounding!
The Panthers are also obviously a great team to be a part of, because it’s all the fun of football with a heavy emphasis on Southern hospitality and preppy style thrown in. I saw a lot of really cute game day looks in the stadium, and my ensemble could use some refreshing, so obviously my first step to more committed Panthers fandom is shopping! I figured if I was going to be looking for new Sunday afternoon outfits, I might as well share! I actually really want a jersey (and I have never said that sentence before), but I also love just putting black and blue outfits together with some subtle Panthers logos thrown in. I like to be casual and comfortable 90% of the time I’m watching football, but I threw in some more dressed up options too. Another tried and true option I didn’t include: throw on a black dress with a Panthers blue statement necklace, and you’re done.
The one issue I’ve run into with Panthers outfits (unless you’re wearing official team gear from the NFL store) is getting the shade of blue right. Football team blues are very fraught with potential pitfalls in the South. If you go too light into the baby/powder blue territory you look like a tar heel. If you go a little darker and slightly more grey, you could be supporting the Tennessee Titans. So it’s tricky, but you want to land somewhere lighter and more turquoise than royal blue but less green than teal. It’s kind of an azure, like the color of your sent iMessages. Anywho, I did my best, but I’m a baby Panthers fan, so more seasoned members of the tribe, please fill me in if I am off!
Come back tomorrow for pics from the game!
