Well, I say this every week, but this week I really feel like didn’t even happen. I didn’t get back from Nashville until Monday, and Will and I decided we needed a spontaneous date night (to a delicious Vietnamese place in Clarendon). Then Tuesday is our Bible study, and Wednesday night Will had an alumni event at Old Ebbitt for his high school. Then last night, my mom got into town! We didn’t even buy groceries this week, which is really unusual for us. Here’s what else went down since last Friday morning.

Grown Up Slumber Party
I didn’t get to Nashville until late Friday night (after dinner), so all the girls came to pick me up, we went to the grocery store, and then all just got in our jammies and talked the night away until Ida made us go to bed (big day the next day!).
Paige got us these adorable hostess gifts full of locally made Nashville goodies! We had fun unwrapping them together and smelling everything. These candles are my new favorite–I think the one I got at Making Things Happen was the same or very similar. And this soap! I put it in the guest bathroom, but it likely won’t last long in there.
Everything in this box smells amazing. I’m treating myself to the oatmeal this morning!

Wandering Nashville Boutiques
What up, Hillsboro, I’m baaack! Saturday morning was so fun getting ready together like old times. Then after the baby shower, we just wandered around all the boutiques we could squeeze into one afternoon. We even covered several different neighborhoods. It was impressive.
Paige is officially the cutest pregnant woman ever to order coffee, and we about died over that little espresso cup next to the bump. (It doesn’t take much, folks.)
I love this photo. Friendship, y’all! A big theme of the weekend was feeling Paige’s belly alllll the time. I try not to annoy pregnant women by asking to touch their belly, but with one of your closest friends, you touch that belly. I can tell you, that “baby kicking” stuff is real. 🙂
Capri Blue heaven!
We had dinner in a cozy booth at Pinewood Social, which as you know is your standard hipster country club/restaurant/coffee shop/bowling alley/pool.
And we obviously weren’t going to NOT go to Jeni’s. I was reunited with my standard darkest chocolate + espresso ice cream combo, and it felt so good.
And we ended Saturday night all piled up on the couch with Jon Mark. 🙂

Seeing my Parents!
We packed a lot into this weekend. Sunday morning I went to church with my good friends Jennifer and Rachel, then my parents came in Sunday and took me to lunch! (Did I mention I had breakfast at Paige’s house with the girls? It was a lot of food.
And I got to see my sweet niece Lucy, who came along for the ride.
Nothing says “blog-worthy” like a mall parking lot photo shoot.

Seeing Andrew
Then to top it all off, Andrew came through Nashville on his way home from the Masters, and we stopped by the recording studio to see Stephen Limbaugh recording a symphony in an converted church! (So. Nashville.) We just had time to grab a drink and catch up before I hit the road.

Cava Mezze
We sat at that very table on the bottom right!
Last night, Mom got in, and we FINALLY got our butts to Cava Mezze in Clarendon! Will and I are pretty addicted to the fast casual version and have been meaning to get to the sit-down original for a long time. It didn’t disappoint, and we had so much fun catching up with Mom!
Mom and I are on our way to Williamsburg this weekend, so get excited for some colonial imagery next week!
