Happy Friday! It’s another dreary day here, but we had a great week. This weekend is the Junior League’s 25th Annual huge rummage sale, Tossed and Found, and it’s open to the public! You should come find some fabulous stuff! I’m going to the preview party tonight, which should be fun. We also had a really fun weekend last weekend around DC, and here are the highlights.

Registering for Baby Girl
Last weekend I read through many of the documents that my sweet mama friends have sent me about what products worked and didn’t work for them and their babies, and I got a little overwhelmed. So we decided it would be fun to go to Buy Buy Baby and set our registry up in person so we could see what we were getting into. It was a fun little day date, and it got us so excited! We didn’t add much to our registry in-store, because I feel like this will require more research, but it sure was fun! I think I am going to post about the things I’m registering for and see if any of you mamas reading this are willing to weigh in. We followed our baby gear hunting up with a romantic lunch at Noodles and Co. and celebrated becoming boring parents.

A Birthday Celebration at Rose’s Luxury
Both Leslie and Hayley have March birthdays, so we planned an outing to Rose’s Luxury a long time ago to celebrate. Leslie and Ben had been telling us about it for a long time, and it did not disappoint! I actually think this was one of my favorite evenings in DC so far. You have to wait outside in line for a table before they open at 5pm, because they don’t take reservations. Then you are seated for either the 5pm seating or the later (usually around 8:30pm) seating. We got the first one and spent the next three and a half hours sharing endless beautiful, delicious small plates. Everything was so good I couldn’t stop talking about it, and I don’t even really consider myself to be a foodie. After this and the Farmhouse, I may be now, though!

And as if it could get any better, we came back to our place for ice cream cake after dinner. It was an all-around lovely evening.

Our First Baby-Related Purchases

I realized this week that I was dreading getting dressed because I can’t wear any of my pants anymore, and then remembered that people sell clothes for pregnant ladies I could wear. So I took a trip to Motherhood and bought these jeans which have already changed my life. I don’t want to buy a lot of maternity clothes and am hoping I can wear mostly normal dresses once it finally gets warm, but these are going to get a lot of wears and a lot of washes. While I was there, I couldn’t resist this absolutely darling little seersucker eyelet dress from Baby Gap. It’s so precious I can’t stand it. And finally, to meet one of my March goals, I finally got this pretty notebook to start recording prayers for baby girl!

Home Town Premiere on HGTV

Did anyone see the premiere of Home Town on HGTV this week? It could not have come at a better time, because I’m on a big HGTV kick these days. Erin and Ben are the sweetest couple, and I think it will be really fun to escape to small town Southern life when I watch it! I’m originally from a farming community with a population of under 6,000 (before moving to a big metropolis of around 40,000), so it’s pretty nostalgic for me. If you’d believe it, these two were “discovered” from their Southern Newlywed interview on the same column that we were on! Erin and Ben remodel older homes similarly to Fixer Upper, but they have a totally unique style that is all their own.
