Good morning, America and happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who have served. I feel that I would be remiss not to memorialize the fact that this was the week that guy who used to be just some rich dude your parents recognized when he made a cameo in Home Alone 2 is now the President elect of the United States. What a world!
Secondly, I am super excited to be headed to Houston tonight for a wedding that I know will be gorgeous and to spend time with my bestie Haley, my cousin James, and his girlfriend Taylor. Yay! I have never been to Houston, so it is high time. Haley has a wonderful weekend full of girl fun planned, and I can’t wait.
This was a busy week of junior league volunteer commitments and meetings, that election thing, and last night, Friendsgiving! Stay tuned for that on the blog next week.
Here’s what else is on my radar:

Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curler
I got the best gift in the mail this week from Irresistible Me! In an effort to check No. 13 off my 30 before 30 list, I’ve had a new curling wand on my wishlist for a while. Well, this is even better than one curling wand, because it’s eight in one! You just pop the eight different attachments off and on the handle, and you have eight different curling irons for different looks. The whole set came with the heat touch gloves and a stand to rest the curling wand on in an awesome carrying case. The case has a pocket for each curling wand and would be great for travel. I’m so excited to try this out and share the results with you, especially this “pearl” attachment! I’m thinking it would be a good thing to put on your holiday wish list…

Classic Catherine has a Twitter!
Guys, guess what? I figured out this new thing they call Twitter this week and decided to join the year 2006. WOO. I honestly have been kind of intimidated by the Twittersphere, but I decided it was time to get in on the conversation. If you feel sorry me because I only have seven followers, you can find me here!

SALE ALERT! I can’t believe it, but these are still 33% off! Crazy but true story: my very financially conservative husband noticed that my Melissa riding boots (also on sale!) had seen better days and thought I should replace them at some point. (Whaaat?) I actually knew I needed some classic riding boots anyway, because the Melissa Button boots are kind of a more casual, Western feel. And then the perfect ones went on sale! I also found some at Nordstrom Rack, but just didn’t like them as much. Sidenote: I am at least three different shoe sizes, which makes ordering online tough, but I think these run big. My smallest size (6) worked with room for toe wiggling.

Making a Ta-Da List
Image via
I don’t even know where I got this idea, but I mentioned it to friends during the retreat last weekend, and there was a request to put it on the blog! Here it is: you know how frustrating it can be when you feel like you aren’t accomplishing enough on your to-do list in a day and you feel like you keep getting derailed? Well, I like to make a ta-da list of thing that I have done after I’ve accomplished them so that I can look at it and see that I got a lot done in the day! It’s also a good motivator, because you really want to have a long ta-da list. Get yourself a cute notepad and try it!

I’m ripping this directly from my friend Erin’s delightful blog, but it’s so worth passing along. Emma Stone is my absolute favorite actress, and look! A musical theater-inspired period piece with Ryan Gosling! Can’t wait!
Other Things that Happened Around Here this Week:
I shared how I styled my new cape for fall!
I went on a beautiful retreat in West Virginia with friends.
Will and I ate really well this week thanks to Galley Foods.
How was your week?
