We hatched a plan to skip all the “fun” in DC this past weekend to ski in Snowshoe with friends instead, and it was so nice to get away. Will and I went for our first anniversary almost a year ago (!), and it was really sweet to be back and relive the memories but also enjoy the resort in a totally different way. We happened to hit the one warm weekend this winter, so the snow was a little slushy (and of course it’s supposed to snow for the next two weeks straight), but we also kind of loved that it felt like spring one afternoon! They did a really good job with grooming, so there was still some fresh powder, especially in the morning, and especially on the steeper runs. On that note, it very well could have a lot to do with the fact that this is West Virgnia and not Utah, but I feel like my skiing has come a long way since we moved out here! Now that we can ski several weekends a winter, I am way more confident and feel like my form is better, which is easier on the legs. Will has come a long way too–he was passing me down the blacks!
In other news, I’ve been just waiting for the right opportunity to bust this sweater out, and this was it! It’s so warm and cozy that it almost works without a coat in 45-degree weather, and it’s super soft (not to mention on sale!). I also have these pants in three different colors for a reason (these are actually the grey, not black). They are thick and structured enough to wear to work, but let’s be real, we all know they don’t have a zipper.
These Hunter boots are the “Tour” packable version, which I love. They are way more lightweight and comfortable than my other pair (that Pippa chewed up), and they really do fold or roll right up. Now, they still take up some room, but at least they do go in your suitcase. If you can’t tell it was super drizzly and foggy on this day, so it was the perfect time to bring them out!

P.S. Right after yesterday’s post where I said I didn’t want to have the TV on, I turned on the Bachelor for the first time this season last night. Oops. All I have to say is that my extreme distaste for Nick (since the beginning of Andi’s season) is alive and well, so that may be my first and last glimpse of this season. So sad, because that show really does get me through the boring end of winter. What do y’all think?
