I’m so thankful that we’ve been checking fun DC summer experiences off our list since early May, because we realized last night that we really only have about a month of summer left before we’re holed up at home for a while. The good news is that next year our summer fun list will be even more fun with a one-year-old baby, but I do want to get out and soak up as much of these last 4-6 weeks as we can. So I present to you, our 2017 Summer Fun Bucket List!
- Go to another Nationals game.
- Buy fresh produce at the local farmer’s market, and make something delicious.
- Spend plenty of time grilling, swimming, and watching the sun set on our rooftop.
- Go to at least 2 new-to-me museums.
- Take a day or overnight trip to Annapolis and St. Michael’s.
- Go camping with friends. (This one may be too ambitious.)
- Have a picnic at Jazz in the Sculpture Garden.
- Have another picnic at for the concert series at Yards Park.
- Check out the many events offered at National Harbor.
- Walk Pippa on the Mall.
- Dine al fresco in Capitol Hill.
- Eat Nice Cream and Toby’s Homemade Ice Cream.
- Go to Signature Theatre’s Sizzlin’ Summer Nights Cabaret Series in Shirlington.
- See something at the Wolf Trap.
- Kayak on the Potomac.

This may be more of a list of ideas than an actual checklist since time is somewhat limited for us, but I am excited to seize every moment we have left and take advantage of this great city! If you have any other fun ideas for summer in DC, let me know in the comments!
P.S. This got me reminiscing on our Annapolis weekend last year. I love that city.
