Pippa isn’t normally allowed on the couch unless we are on it with her, but I needed her modeling skills. The black watch throw (under $30, people) is a seasonal touch in an attempt to “winterize” our apartment.
I know you all probably thought that Y2K finally happened 17 years late, because I recapped 2016 and then THAT WAS ALL SHE WROTE. I can be behind on getting January off to a good start, and that’s ok. I am still working out those Powersheets and 2017 intentions, so if you too are behind, look for some inspiration very soon. We have had a great start to 2017, though, even reorganizing all our Christmas decorations and the guest closet while we were at it! I’m happy that while I haven’t been organized with deep thought on the subject, we have already been prioritizing what’s important. Plus, I’m back with Friday Favorites!

We got bikes!
We checked off a 30 before 30 item on the coldest weekend of the year so far and got road bikes! We got them at our neighborhood bike shop and can’t wait for weekend rides on the Mount Vernon Trail along George Washington Parkway and the Crescent Trail in Georgetown. I haven’t had a bike since elementary school, so honestly I’m a little nervous to have such a fancy pants bike, but Will was really into cycling before law school, so I am excited to learn about it with him, get some exercise, and hopefully not fall on my face. I got this Liv Avail 1, which I hear is a great bike for the price point. Can’t wait to ride!

Lilly After Party Sale
Rooney Dress // Blythe Swing Dress // Anise Dress // Elsa Crinkle Top // Edna Dress
Nothing makes you ready for spring like Lilly’s After Party sale! I got all these fun pieces, and every one of them works! The sale was typical this year, technical difficulties and lots of panicking followed by plenty of merchandise in plenty of sizes still available. 🙂 You can’t beat these after sale prices if you are confident about your size, so I’m thankful I guessed right!

Skiing Whitetail!
We started the year off right with a Saturday at Whitetail, our favorite local ski resort, with friends! Granted, this is the only local ski resort we’ve tried so far, but when it’s so close and you know you like it, it’s hard to risk trying the other places. It was FREEEEEEZING, but we had a good day on the mountain big hill with Jeff and Hayley! Jeff was a snowboarding instructor for many years, so he’s a really good guy to have on a ski trip. 🙂

Theater Update
I’ve been doing so well on going to the theater lately! Mom and I saw The Secret Garden at the Shakespeare Theater, then Will and I saw Carousel at Arena Stage and A Christmas Carol with friends at Ford’s Theater. We also just booked a weekend in New York for our second anniversary with Dear Evan Hansen tickets! We’re super pumped, and I’m so thankful my husband is a secret theater nerd. So many great things are coming to DC in the spring too: I’m looking at Charles III, Roe and Fun Home! Sadly, we missed what looked like an epic production of Titanic at Signature, but next time!

Speaking of Theater Nerds…
I’m just going to leave this here in case you missed it. Cheers!
