Big news, y’all. Pippa won the pet Halloween costume contest!!! We’re so proud. Unfortunately, her parents can’t collect her prize because they are always working when the leasing office is open between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Poor Pippa. Such a latchkey dog.
Secondly, I’m going to West Virginia today, and you know how happy that makes me. It’s our church’s annual retreat, and it’s honestly one of the best events of the year (right up there with doggy swim day). This is where we met or solidified friendships with our entire crew last year, so the retreat is very good to us. This year should be even more fun now that our church family is also our regular friend group! I was up late last night baking cookies with Lorelei and Rory for the baked goods table, and I’m leading a small group for discussion of the speaker’s talks. As is the case anytime I’m en route to West Virginia, I am so excited to be outside enjoying the great outdoors with spotty cell phone service and no wifi, so if you need me, I’ll be back Sunday night. 🙂
This has been an insane work week for me, so I was mostly behind my computer, but some really great stuff still happened!

Taken on one of those early work mornings.
I finally made it to this CorePower Yoga, which is across the street from my office this week! There’s something about the constant sitting behind a computer just makes me want to stretch, and this was just the ticket. I didn’t think it was terribly different in content than any other yoga class I’ve ever been to beyond throwing some crunches in there, but I think I need to try their other classes to give the uniqueness a fair shake. It was, however, a gorgeous studio with luxurious locker rooms which reminded me of the days I used to shower exclusively at Equinox and of how much I miss fancy gyms. Your first week is free!

This is a day late and a dollar short for that time I taught myself how to blow-dry my hair, but it’s an ongoing learning process, and I need all the help I can get, so I will take it. DryBar wrote a book on how to style your hair at home! I can’t wait to pick this lady up and learn some more tips and tricks on my hair-styling journey.

Subtle Thanksgiving Decor
I mentioned how Thanksgiving employs subtle fall decor this week, and I found this darling banner in the dollar aisle at Target. You know I’ve been on a big gingham kick this year, and doesn’t it just put in you in the Thanksgiving mood? It makes me so happy every time I step into the living room. (It is not this hard to see in real life, but it says “gather.” Love.)

I Pre-Ordered my Powersheets!
I wrote down “order Powersheets” on the November to-do list page of my planner months ago, and I’m so proud I actually followed through! I will share more about how I use Powersheets in January, but basically they are an awesome intentional living goal-setting system that helps you focus on what matters, and Lara Casey is awesome. BONUS: This year I pre-ordered the couples’ goal-setting workbook, because Will and I are already goal-setting nerds together, we may as well have a system!

This is just a teaser for more information next week, but Will and I had our first dinner from Galley, and it was life-changing. I do not say that lightly. This has made it affordable, healthy, and convenient for us to eat dinner when we haven’t had time to cook, and our strawberry balsamic pork was delicious.
What else was new around here this week:
We threw our annual pumpkin-carving Halloween party (and the results are still on our balcony).
